Gardening quickly became a passion, although she resisted it for years, as Phoebe tried to find ways to get their family out of over $40,000 in consumer debt. Now she prides herself in being able to grow a garden year after year that provides almost all of their vegetable needs through the winter months.
Phoebe realized there was a need to show others the frugal, yet organic, side of gardening that most people do not realize exists, after being asked question after question on the topic. In order not to scare people off with her passionate responses, she decided that putting all of the information in one place was the best option, so Frugal Gardening 101: The Comprehensive Guide to Vegetable Gardening Without Breaking the Bank was born.
